I want out of this farce of a website. I thought this was on open forum for progressives to discuss their views. Instead, it is little more than the internet wing of the Democratic propoganda machine. Now that I want out, a fair minded and liberal website would let me delete my account and go. Instead, DailyKos will give me no such option. Like some sort of cult, I was welcomed in freely but am now being barred from leaving. I do not want to simply leave and let my info remain here at a website I am disgusted by and want no further part in. Since Kos won't allow me the decent option of deleting my account (just about every blog DOES let you delete your account when you want to), then somebody here needs to delete my account for me. To deny me deletion of my own account is unacceptable.

Last week, I wrote my Democrat senators from California regarding the flagburning amendment that came narrowly close to passing recently. I wrote Senator Feinstein concerning my displeasure in her voting for the amendment, then wrote Senator Boxer concerning my approval of her voting against the amendment. Since then, Senator Boxer has responded promptly to my email whereas Senator Feinstein hasn't. Why does one senator do the right thing by responding to her constituency in the proper, prompt matter, while the other doesn't? And is it true that Senator Feinstein is known for not responding to letters sent to her by her constituents?

Showing that they truly have no shame or tact, the conservative partisans over at Polipundit.com are now claiming that the person responsible for the tragic death at the Big Dig recently is none other than Ted Kennedy. According to them, the Big Dig is Kennedy's pet project, and the senator now has blood on his hands because a woman tragically died at the site yesterday. Such a baseless, unfair attack on Senator Kennedy should not go unanswered. Such an opportunity to expose the conservative extremists as hate-filled and irrational should not be passed up.

So, the GOP finally has control of both houses of Congress, and what are they going to do with it? Pass non-binding resolutions and propose Constitutional amendments that have no real chance of being ratified! In other words, the Republican-controlled Congress is doing NOTHING; They are a do nothing Congress, perhaps one of the most 'nothingest' of all do nothing Congresses in American history.
Problem is, they need more 'nothing' to do, as the non-binding resolution over the Iraq War is already forgotten, the Constitutional amendments they proposed that were always going to go nowhere have now gone nowhere, and the economic interests they serve have already been served (bankruptcy bill, energy bill, the Iraq War, etc.). Since this Congress is not going to do anything like LEGISLATE or SERVE THE PUBLIC INTEREST any time soon, perhaps we could suggest a few more distractions and time killers for them to partake in, like, say, amending the Constitution to give leprechauns the right to vote, or passing a non-binding resolution in support of the Crimean War...
